What is PRIMO?

  • The State of Missouri, through private and public partnerships, has developed the Primary Care Resource Initiative for Missouri... PRIMO for short. It's a pipeline for recruiting health care providers and developing community-based systems of health care and life quality. The pipeline begins at the community level and runs through the health professional schools and training institutions before ending back in the community. If you are a medical, mental, dental or nursing student looking for a way to pay college expenses, PRIMO might be able to help. Participants in the PRIMO program can receive funding for school in exchange for working in an area of designated need here in Missouri.

PRIMO ACES Star Student for June - Dr. Fatima Dalton

FatimaDalton Dr. Fatima Dalton is a 2009 graduate of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is a current resident in Internal Medicine at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville. Dr. Dalton was born in Karachi, Pakistan and grew up in Saudi Arabia. She moved to Kirksville in 1999. She has been a vocal promoter of the AHEC, ACES and ACES+ programs as a presenter at workshops for high school students hoping to seek a career in medicine.
